Mortynight Run

In Season 2 episode 2 of Rick and Morty, Rick wants an afternoon at a video arcade and in turn sells a gun to an alien who is also an assassin. Morty tries to stop the assassin but it ends up getting messy and it’s one of the best Rick and Morty episodes where you need to be high to truly enjoy the comedy behind it. Poor Morty is just trying to do the right thing, but sometimes you just have to stay in your lane and mind your own business!

Total Rickall

In Season 2 episode 4 of Rick and Morty, the family deals with parasites that will implant false memories into your brain. The episode is great in itself because there is just so much chaos that ensues, as per usual. The episode starts off with the family having breakfast with Jerry’s brother, who is not actually his brother but a parasite. When Rick shoots the parasite and alerts the family of what is happening, this continues on and downspirals into a survivor situation inside their own house. With parasites popping up left and right, it is up to the family to stick together and weed out who belongs there and who is just a parasite with fake memories.

The Rickshank Redemption

In Season 3 episode 1 of Rick and Morty was an incredible start to the beginning of a new season. As a side note, Adult Swim featured this episode on a continuous streaming loop as an April Fools stint and it was brilliant. In the beginning of the episode, Rick exposes a Galactic Federation agent that tells him his brain will be liquefied after he is finished gathering information from him. Ricky is allowed to revisit his memories before losing them forever, and meanwhile Morty is with his family on earth which is run by the Galactic Foundation, which prompts Summer and Morty to travel interdimensionally to find Rick but also end up encountering a lot of Ricks. A bunch of shenanigans go down in this best Rick and Morty episode and the way the opening of the third season delivered was all around legendary.

The Ricklantis Mixup (“Tales of Citadel”)

In Season 3 episode 7 of Rick and Morty, the political hunnies will love the way Rick and Morty is able to get away with a lot and how far they push those buttons. What was a trip to Atlantis for Rick and Morty turned into viewers joining a ride through Citadel. If you need a refresher, Citadel is a secret society formed by Ricks and Mortys based from an infinite amount of realities and controlled by the Council of Ricks. This episode makes the list because it so effortlessly touches on political issues that have been all too prevalent in American society, especially in the past several years. Rick and Morty writers do an excellent job in portraying oppressed societies in its own Rick and Morty way - with enough spice to jumpstart your thinking but also quite a bit of humor to keep you high and happy.

Morty’s Mind Blowers

Following up the above recommendation, you are in for a real mindf**k! In Season 3 episode 8 of Rick and Morty, memories on top of memories is the theme and boy does it get interesting. Rick and Morty production is always superb and phenomenally written while tying together with past stories without an unnecessary breakdown of details. Basically, when Rick shows Morty a room full of memories of Morty’s that he specifically begged Rick to remove, things go off the rails when Rick begins to place those memories back into Morty’s brain. This best Rick and Morty episode has jokes embedded into jokes so feel free to rip an extra bong rip or two that will really help you stay elevated. Peep when Rick and Morty return to the couch with House Hunters on and hunt for anthropomorphic houses.
