Delta 8 Dabs

One of the latest cannabis products to rise in popularity are Delta THC extracts and nothing is more well known than Delta 8. These obscure cannabinoids derived from the hemp plant have changed the game for those living in U.S. states that have not legalized marijuana and are thought to have the same therapeutic benefits as normal THC. We’re going to explain everything you need to know about Delta 8 THC, cannabis concentrates, and where you can find Delta 8 dabs for sale so you can try this new cannabis product for yourself.

What is delta 8 THC?

There are a lot of different extracts made from the cannabis plant. You probably know about CBD and normal THC (Delta 9) unless you’ve been living under a rock, but what about all of these newer cannabis concentrates on the market like Delta 8 THC, THC-O, and Delta 10? The cannabis plant naturally produces over 100 chemical compounds called cannabinoids, which includes THC, CBD, and others. Delta 9 THC is created naturally in the highest quantities and has been favored by the cannabis community due to its strong psychoactive effects it produces on the human body and mind. Since marijuana is illegal at the federal level and hemp cultivation was legalized in 2018 through the Farm Bill, the cannabis industry saw this as a great opportunity. The bill only limits the amount of normal Delta 9 THC in products made from legal hemp flower and doesn’t speak about other cannabinoids at all. This puts Delta 8 THC in a legal gray zone, though some states have already placed bans on the extract since it has risen so quickly in popularity. Some local laws conflict with federal regulations, so many online smoke shops and cannabis retailers will not sell or ship Delta 8 dabs and other hemp derived concentrates to certain states.

How are Delta 8 dabs made?

Delta 8 THC is actually made using CBD derived from the hemp plant. There are many extraction methods used to procure CBD (CO2 extraction is the most common for commercial CBD products), but once you have hemp flower CBD, it is turned into Delta 8 THC by adding toluene or heptane as a solvent mixed with an acid to create a reaction at the molecular level. This process is called isomerization. Crazy right? That means that Delta 8 is actually one of the many CBD products and you will often see it sold as Delta 8 CBD. If you didn’t realize by now, it requires a lot of steps and is not easy to get Delta 8 THC, which is made in a lab even though it is a naturally produced plant compound. The mixture is then washed to stop the reaction and get rid of any residue left behind on the final product. What you have at this point is Delta 8 distillate, which can be used as is or further turned into Delta 8 dabs like wax, shatter, budder, and more. These different Delta 8 dabs are made by using different combinations of temperature and pressure to achieve various consistencies. And that’s it. You’ve got yourself smokable Delta 8 THC dabs.

Are Delta 8 dabs any good?

If you’re wondering, does Delta 8 THC get you high? The answer is yes and it is great for anyone who doesn’t live in a marijuana legal state or wants to try new therapeutic cannabinoids. Delta 8 THC will give you the same happy, euphoric, uplifting, buzzy body and head high that you’re used to from normal THC, but it is much milder. While you may find this as a bad thing, the milder effects also come with mild negative side effects that many cannabis smokers get such as short-term memory issues and increased anxiety and paranoia. But don’t underestimate these potent products, Delta 8 dabs are highly concentrated and just like normal dabs, should be used by experienced marijuana enthusiasts. Delta 8 THC dabs usually have a slightly milder flavor than normal dabs too. This is because some of the other cannabinoids and terpenes are stripped during the extraction and isomerization process. Many brands typically add terpenes back into the final product to give it an added kick of flavor that is similar to what you’re used to with normal dabs. While Delta 8 THC dabs are not the same as your regular dabs, they come pretty close and any cannabis enthusiast will enjoy at least giving this alternative THC a try.

Can you dab Delta 8 syringe?

You know about Delta 8 flower, edibles, tinctures, and Delta 8 THC dabs like wax, but what is a Delta 8 syringe and how do you use it? The no-mess syringe is one of the best options for Delta 8 THC users since the product has clear and easy dosage right on the outside of the syringe so you know exactly how much you’re getting, makes almost no mess when consuming, and is very versatile. The five most common ways to use a Delta 8 syringe is to dab it, add it to a homemade edible recipe, infuse a joint or blunt, create DIY Delta 8 moon rocks, or take a dose sublingually (under the tongue). Sublingual application is the easiest way to get blazed without any effort since all you need to do is portion a dose onto your finger and let it absorb into the soft tissue under your tongue. Making homemade Delta 8 moon rocks and DIY weed edibles are perfect for the crafty types that like to know exactly what’s going into their moon rocks and edibles. Infusing a joint or blunt is also pretty easy and will usually turn out to be cheaper than purchasing an infused pre-roll at the dispensary if you’re up for a little more work. Slightly heat the syringe so the Delta 8 distillate is somewhat pliable. You can either squeeze a line of Delta 8 THC down the center of the joint before rolling or wrap it around the outside of a joint you’ve already rolled to add an extra kick of potency to each hit. Now if you want to dab a Delta 8 syringe, here’s how to do it properly:

How to dab Delta 8 syringe with a dab pen

Dab pens and portable dab rigs (also known as e-rigs) make dabbing quick and easy. When using a dab pen to consume Delta 8 from a syringe, you can make do with no other pieces of equipment, though a dab tool can come in handy. We recommend using the Grenco Science G Pen Roam, which has a long battery life, custom temperature settings between 600° F and 800° F, and produces super flavorful, large plumes of vapor. Simply open the concentrate chamber and squeeze out the proper dosage for a single dab. Since this will be around the size of half a grain of rice or the tip of a ballpoint pen (yes, that small), it can be easier to portion out a dose on a dab tool first before placing it into the dab pen chamber. Once the dose is inserted, close the chamber and fire up your dab pen! Choose the lowest possible temperature setting to retain cannabinoids and flavor, also known as low temp dabbing. Your dab pen will either vibrate or give you a light to indicate that it’s heated up and ready to dab.

How to dab Delta 8 syringe with a dab rig

Those who have been dabbing for a while know that nothing beats the large plumes that a dab rig produces. For smooth, cold dabs, we love the Recycling Gripper Dab Rig, which is also super portable at just 6 inches tall. If you’re all about the glassware, we’ve got good news. You don’t need to worry about messy Delta 8 dabs any longer if you use a syringe! The process is nearly the same as dabbing other cannabis concentrates. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Fill your dab rig with water so that all the percolators are just covered. If you give it a test run and the water reaches your lips, you’ve put too much and will need to dump some out. Once your dab rig is ready to go, set it on the coffee table and prepare your dab.
  2. Using a dab tool, squeeze out a proper dose of Delta 8 thc from the syringe. Remember that this will look like an insanely small amount to those who aren’t experienced with cannabis extracts. With the dab on the end of the dab tool, place the syringe and dab tool onto the dab tray and move it to the side while you’re heating up your dab nail.
  3. Use the scorch torch to evenly heat up the dab nail or banger until it becomes cherry red. Allow it to cool down for roughly 45 to 60 seconds so the Delta 8 THC dabs won’t burn. You want to aim for around 300° F to 400° F before putting your dab on the nail. If you don’t have the best tasting dabs the first time, don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of the best timing after some practice with your rig.
  4. When the optimal temperature is reached, start dabbing by applying the pre-dosed concentrate on the dab tool to the hot surface of the dab nail. When you see the Delta 8 dabs beginning to bubble and vaporize, cover it with the carb cap, which will allow you to control the airflow and heat up the dab evenly. You’ll also waste less of your smoking material when using a carb cap, so you’ll want to get one if you don’t already.
  5. When the carb cap is set and the concentrate is vaporizing, give the dab rig a nice slow rip on the mouthpiece and start to melt away into the clouds.

Do Delta 8 dabs get you high?

Delta 8 dabs do in fact give a euphoric feeling, although it will not be the same type of psychoactive high that those might experience with delta 9 dabs. Delta 8 dabs are a great alternative for those that do not want to feel the full effects of delta 9 but want some boost to their mood. Consider delta 8 dabs like a balanced wake and bake, where you are ready to take on the day with a clear head and lingering high that still keeps you fully functional. Delta 8 dabs can feel like you are slightly high, but will not couch lock you the way a single delta 9 dab could. Depending on how an individual’s tolerance is, delta 8 dabs can be a method for those that want to perform the act of dabbing but experience a subtle high. Delta 8 dabs can also be a smarter approach to weaning yourself off of consuming large doses of delta 9 instead of having to cut back completely.

Are delta 8 dabs stronger than other products?

Delta 8 dabs are definitely stronger in effects than cannabidiol, or CBD, but not as strong as delta 9 dabs would be considering it has much more psychoactive effects than delta 8 dabs do. While CBD won’t necessarily give you a buzz or high feeling, it should help to calm and relax an individual which can possibly provide more comfort to the user. With delta 8 dabs, it is just a step up from that without knocking you out like delta 9 dabs could. For those that want to stay alert throughout the day with a slight buzz to keep the momentum going, delta 8 dabs and other delta 8 products are right up your alley. Delta 8 dabs are a great way to wake yourself up for the day or to double up in attempts to wind down after a long week. Delta 8 dabs should not put you on your butt (if you take an excessive amount then maybe) so this is a safe way for chain smokers to keep their habit going.

Are delta 8 dabs worth it?

Delta 8 dabs are totally worth it for those that are looking for some sort of euphoric and relaxing experience without getting a full fledged couch-locked high that is hard to manage. Delta 8 dabs might be strong for those that are used to consuming only CBD, but with a few uses the body can feel more comfortable and understand its effects. If using delta 9 on a daily basis, delta 8 dabs can be worth adding to your routine so it helps to cut back on delta 9 consumption and possibly getting too high. Delta 8 dabs are an effective method for those that still want to participate in the act of dabbing but do not want to get extremely high the way delta 9 dabs might cause. Delta 8 dabs can be built up for a stronger effect, or take a slightly smaller dab than you normally would for just a quick yet effective dab hit.
